A graduate of the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Dentistry in 1975, Dr. John Wilson, B.Sc., D.D.S., F.A.G.D. is a practicing dentist with over 35 years experience chairside, a member of the BC Dental Assoc. , Victoria & District Dental Society, and the Canadian Dental Assoc. He is an avid skier, hiker and ballroom dancer.
In 1995 John sold his dental practice in Ontario and moved to Whistler where he and his family resided for 12 years. John also worked for several years downtown Vancouver but eventually became tired of the city and when the opportunity arose to purchase the Lake Dental Health Centre and move to the island, he did not hesitate. John and Sylvia have always loved the island, especially this part of it.
They now live on an acreage east of Lake Cowichan with their dog Sadie, (you may even see her at the office occasionally). They spend a lot of their time gardening and enjoying the peaceful Cowichan Valley. They have 3 children, Karina, Jannah and David who live in Surrey, Ottawa and Whistler, respectively.
Nicole, our Registered Dental Hygienist, grew up in Southern Alberta where she began her dental career as a Dental Assistant. She then moved to Vancouver where she enrolled and successfully graduated from the Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene. Nicole then pursued her childhood dream to move to Vancouver Island to raise her family and fulfill her career.
Janet and Tracy remain the ever familiar faces at Lake Dental. They are both Lake Cowichan natives and have played significant roles in our practice over the years. Both are Certified Dental Assistants and each have worked in the dental field for over 25 years. Janet is our front office receptionist now and Tracy is Dr. Wilson’s chairside assistant.
Courtney is our behind the scenes setup and sterilization girl. She drops in after school and is a terrific help to us - not to mention a complete joy to have around.
